I`ve got a question for Don. Did you race a VW Beetle at Gateway (st.louis int) about 30 years ago? or I`m I remembering someone else?

"I`ve got a question for Don. Did you race a VW Beetle at Gateway (st.louis int) about 30 years ago? or I`m I remembering someone else? " You are probably remembering me, I had a beige Beetle and also a black Beetle, my brother had a red Beetle, made many a runs against motorcycles on Wed night jackpot !! (also ran against the yellow blown Corvette on Wednesday nights too )

OK, you are probably right. Its been so long, and I just remember two brothers racing beetles. I also remember seeing Don and Ron racing racing way back when, so thats why I thought it might be them. I wasnt racing bikes back then, I was just a teenager and used to go with my older brother when he raced. He had a big block chevy powered mid 60`s Rambler American painted with stars and strips, and called the "Ratified American". He blew it up big one time, and then ran a very wild 292 six banger for a couple years. Any of this sound familiar? I talked with Kepner this summer, and he remembered the Rambler. It was a one of kind race car.

Yes I almost forgot about that paint job, but now remember we used some of that brown on a 750 honda paint job. It was my 2nd streetbike, I must have been 19 by then. My brother built that car himself in his garage, including the chopped top.
