QUOTE)Hi all, I wanted to pass along an update on our work day this Saturday. It
looks like the weather is planning to be reasonably cooperative (knock
on wood). As a reminder, please dress to get dirty/and or for
painting, and prepare for chilly weather. Good quality work gloves
are a must and boots are highly recommended!
We'll have a lot of people to get organized in a hurry so we can make
the most of our day. If you can be there and ready to go a little
before nine it would be appreciated. We are planning to work from
9-3, but if you have a conflict and need to come late or leave early,
that's perfectly okay.
If you are bringing anyone along that you haven't already told me
about - please let me know by Wednesday evening at the latest!
We will provide lunch and beverages, thanks to our sponsors Spry
Digital, St. Louis Audi Club and Gateway Motorsports Park. We will be
grilling burgers and dogs and also have sides and cookies, and will
have plenty of water and soda on hand all day.
I could use a couple of extra charcoal grills so if you have a full
size Weber or similar and are willing to bring it - please let me
know.
For painting: if you have paint rollers, trays, buckets and extension
handles that you can bring it would be appreciated. We will have
paint and roller pads. Not all of the water is turned on at the track
so cleanup will be a little inconvenient, water buckets would be very
helpful.
For weeding and cleanup: if you have a weed whacker or hand tools
like shears, spades, etc that you can bring along it would also be
appreciated. If you bring a power trimmer please bring (and wear)
safety glasses.
I'm looking forward to a great day of getting to know one another and
showing our support for the new track - it's going to be a great
season of racing and your help will be a big part of it!
Thanks again,
Steven Burkett
